Wireless Local Number Portability -- You can take it with you!

Before last year we were pretty much held hostage by our wireless company if we had a cell phone number we wanted to keep because it was important to our business, or whatever the reason. We either had to stick it out with the same company or lose our prized number.

However, since late last year in large markets, and May of this year in smaller ones, the FCC has mandated that cell phone companies must let us take our cell phone numbers with us if we decide to change carriers.
